Tree of Remembrance

2017 marks the 22nd year of a treasured St. Mary’s tradition, the Tree of Remembrance.

The Tree of Remembrance honors loved ones who have passed on to God’s kingdom. Up to 250 “angels” can be placed on the tree, with priority given to those who have died in 2016 and 2017.

The deceased who are named on the tree will be remembered at a special Angel Mass at noon on Monday, January 8. Following the Mass, angels can be retrieved and then used to decorate family Christmas trees in future years.

A form must be filled out if you wish to request a Christmas angel. Extra forms are available at Church entrances. They must be completed and turned in to the collection basket or the Rectory by Wednesday, December 13. Only St. Mary’s parishioners may request angels; however, the angel’s name need not be that of a parishioner. There is no charge; however, donations to the St. Mary’s Bereavement Ministry are gratefully accepted.

For more information, please call the Rectory at (716) 683-6445.
