175th Anniversary Mass & Reception
St. Mary of the Assumption Church will commemorate its 175th anniversary with a special Mass and celebration on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM, marking a significant milestone in the parish’s long-standing service to the community.
The Anniversary Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Michael W. Fisher of the Diocese of Buffalo. Parishioners, alumni, former clergy, and members of the community are warmly invited to attend this joyful occasion.
Following the Mass, a celebratory reception will be held in the Parish Center, featuring food, desserts, and refreshments. The event will offer an opportunity for past and present members of the parish to come together in fellowship, reflect on the parish’s history, and look ahead to its future.
“This celebration is a testament to the generations of faithful who have built and sustained St. Mary’s through prayer, service, and love,” said a member of the 175th Anniversary Committee. “We are honored to welcome Bishop Fisher and all those who have been a part of our journey.”
St. Mary of the Assumption, founded in 1850, has been a spiritual home for thousands in the Lancaster area and continues to thrive as a vibrant center of worship, education, and outreach.
